La Residenza Napoleone III
+++ La Residenza Napoleone III is one of Rome’s best kept secrets and one of the most luxurious and unique places to stay in the city. I had the privilege to stay/experience it’s beauty and hospitalityportray/register. It is named after Emperor Napoleon III who lived here in 1830 with his mother, Hortense Beauharnais, the former Queen of Holland.
Situated in the 16 century Palazzo Ruspoli, on Rome’s legendary via Condotti, La Residenza was renovated by the Ruspoli family who continue to reside within the Palazzo walls.
Princess Letizia Ruspoli’s idea of converting a section of her home into such a private accommodation came to be, many years ago when she met a Maharaja who was renovating one of his palaces into a luxury hotel. She managed in three years to restore the apartment to its original splendour and offers guests all the grandeur of a classic roman Palazzo.
